Zucchini FlowersIn my garden every year I have healthy zucchini plants that produce millions of flowers and no fruit. "Amazing," my Italian friend said looking at me like with doubt in his eyes, as if something was seriously wrong with me or my garden, but afraid to discover exactly what. "What can I do?" I asked. "Ascolta," (listen) he said. "With your plant I can not help you. But with your flowers I can."
10 or so large zucchini flowers with their stamen removed.
Stuff the flowers (after removing the pistol or stamen...whatever that thing is) with ricotta cheese. Dip it in the egg mixture, coat with the flour mixture and fry on all sides until a little browned. You could drop them in a deep fryer, but what a mess to clean. Now you don't need those zucchini fruits.
