Villa Rinaldo Italian villa in Todi, Umbria

Villa Rinaldo Italian villa in Todi, Umbria

This place is really sweet. Overlooking a beautiful Umbrian valley has been fully restored and now features welcoming rooms and offers all the modern conveniences. Campo Rinaldo is found in an enviably secluded position on a hill, reached by a long driveway off the local road. The property has outstanding panoramic views of the surrounding Umbrian countryside and near by villages. Campo Rinaldo is extremely comfortable with several communal areas where guests can relax together.

The villa overlooks the Apennine Mountains on one side and villages atop the Umbrian hills on the other. The house has several porches and patios making it easy to live outdoors as much as you like, yet offers great comfort the moment you step inside. Villa Campo Rinaldo is perfectly located for exploring some of the hidden gems of Umbria and will welcome you home after a long day of sightseeing.

A large loggia runs the length of the swimming pool with comfortable garden furniture and barbeque. Views from the swimming pool are of the classic countryside. Beautiful 16m x 4m roman shaped swimming pool with breathtaking views of the valley.

The pool is the right length for laps and has a sweet baby pool (1,5x3 meters) for those who prefer to splash and paddle. A spacious terracotta patio with sun-beds and sofas beside the pool makes it a tempting place to linger and store up your share of the Umbrian sun.

The villa has two outdoor terraces. One is a covered pergola with a dining table, seating area and a fireplace. You will find yourself here often looking out at the countryside. The other patio has a dining table under a trellis looking at the Appenino Mountains.

A Little on the Region
They say that Umbria is the "Green Heart" of Italy - largely due to its location (the middle), shape (more or less a heart shape after a couple bottles of wine) and the color (rolling fields of green among forests). It's a lovely place, there is no denying this. But where to go? What to do? You are within a very close driving distace between Todi and Orvieto - bit with their own appeal and restaurants. May we suggest Perugia for its shopping, international ambience and film houses; Orvieto for its fabulous duomo and antiquities, Deruta for its ceramics, Assisi for the spiritual awakening and Todi for its art, ambience and antiquity. Nearby the small hamlets of Morre, Collelungo and Moruzze will have a couple of small grocery shops. But the real stuff is further afield. The Todi Estate includes a wonderful outdoor (covered structure) restaurant/grill located about 2 km from the castle, and less than 1 km walk from the other Todi properties of Pianesante and Cipresso. Fine Italian dining is in your future when you visit TodiCastle. Expect fresh, organic olive oil, truffles, wine and spices-all produced on the Estate. The property even boasts an in house restaurant, The Umbria Grill, where dining takes on a more fabulous meaning. A local chef is also available to prepare a delicious meal for you and your guests. To complete your Italian food experience, you might want to visit the nearby Ricotta and Pecorino cheese farm, wineries and olive oil mills in the area, or local farms to get another taste of true Italian country living.
