Villa Aquila

Villa Aquila Lake Maggiore

Villa Aquila, sitting above the western shore of Lago Maggiore and easily overlooking the best views of Lake Maggiore, and other lakes as well, and the Italian Alps over yonder, is at once comfortable, private, memorable and affordable. The owner has collected unusal and rather rare, old stone carved elements like Corinthian column bases, and massive oil urns that are glazed inside, not out.

Villa Aquila is modern villa, spacious and independent, that offers unforgettable view over three lakes. The gardens are planted with palms, azelias, and flowers. A large pool that becomes like a Siren's song to stay and marvel at the views, is the latest addition to a well maintained and professionally run rental. It is a spacious and very, very comfortable for those couples or even large families seeking a quiet stay with views. It's not remote, but feels it. A large terrace and BBQ provides dining al fresco. In the downstairs dining room (where are two dining rooms and two kitchens) there is this massive...I mean massive dining table made from a solid piece of wood. The kind of thing you would find at a medieval banquet table - some 20 feet long, 5 feet wide and 2 inches thick. It must weigh tons. I asked "how did you get this in here?" She said, "It took 8 men, but I couldn't bear to watch."

Perfect for: Family or couples.
