The Toscanini vacation rental are three apartment rental on Lake Maggiore, standing on the western shore just north of Verbania. Here you have views directly across to the nearby island where Toscanini vacationed and sought solitude from the adoration of Italy.

The apartments are called Duet (2 people), Trio (3 people) and Quartet (4). All are priced closely, and Duet has the best view. The beauty of these rentals are not only price (and view for Duet) but close proximity to Verbania - an easy walk - where you have cafes, shops and ristorante.

You can rent two or all three together, and have a chamber orchestra! There is a door that joins them. Communal washing machine available.

The Details:

DUET
Duet, is perfect for honeymooners. It has a living room with high arched ceilings, a double bedroom separated by an arch (no door) and a bathroom with a tub. There is a full kitchen with dining area opening onto a beautiful and romantic terrace overlooking the lake. The bathroom (with tub) is located downstairs accessed by a rather narrow winding stairs. Therefore Duet is not suitable to oversized guests or to those having walking difficulties. Close to the bathroom there is a door that can connect Duet to Quartet when they are rented together.

TRIO
Trio has a living room with large windows a kitchenette and a double bedroom separated by an arch (no door), downstairs there is a bathroom ( narrow stairs) with shower and an other room with large French doors opening to the garden (in this room two extra beds can be used upon request). Trio is not suitable to oversized guests or to those having walking difficulties.

QUARTET
The lower apartment, Quartet opens directly to the garden. Guests have, at the same level, a small living room, a bedroom with beds that can be made up as twins or a king, little kitchen (cook top with four elements) with dining area, bathroom (shower) and a twin bedroom with twin beds. Quartet can be connected to Duet ( when the two units are rented together) through a door in the kitchen.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SPIRAL STAIRS LEADING TO THE BATHROOM IN DUET AND TRIO ARE VERY NARROW AND COULD BE A PROBLEM FOR PEOPLE WITH WALKING DIFFICULTIES.

Parking is allowed inside the property (1 car for each unit). Pets are welcome (upon request and owner approval and at extra cost). The property has a beautiful garden with private little harbour and direct access to the lake.


A Little on the Region
Although Como has the panache these days, and it is a rather stunning place. Lake Maggiore provides a quieter side of the region and is no less pristine. The villas and cottages hug the shore with respect to the region's ambiance. Two castles deserve closer inspection: Somma Lombardo hosts one at the southern end of Lago Maggiore and Angera on the eastern shore hosts a 13th century castle that is still in the hands of the original Borromeo family. A past family member was given sainthood in the Roman Catholic church. From Menaggio, a bustling little touring port of the lake, trips to Fisherman's Island are only two enjoyable things to work into your itinerary. From Maggiore you can drive over to Lake Orta through a low mountain pass in about 45 minutes. It makes for a nice day trip and Orta is one sweet lake. Malpensa is about 45 minutes from mid lake as well.
