How To Make A Reservation

It's quite easy. By the time you make a reservation we have already had some conversation, either by email, telephone or both, on what is the right place for you. The property will be put on hold, after final confirmation of it's availability, and then we will send the request to confirm which requires payment. This request comes in the form of the terms that need to be signed and sent back via fax and mail please. And an email where you can make the initial deposit via secure server.

In all cases there is a deposit to confirm, and the balance is due 60 days prior to arrival. Once paid in full we will send through your arrival documents, paid invoice and various other goodies.

What Is The Payment Schedule

50% Deposit and 50% Balance Payment
This is the way we have operated since 1996 when we first began. This is also how all other companies do it. Requirement: $200 USD by credit card to confirm your rental, balance of your deposit paid by check or ACH (US only), and wire for outside the US: the full deposit (50% of the total cost) needs to be paid within 7 days. Balance payment is by check or ACH (US only) and wire for outside the US.

Here's an example:

Your rental is 3650 euro for the week you have chosen.

$200 USD is paid to confirm on Feb 4, 2010. Rate on that day is 1.50 dollars to 1 euro.

The full amount of deposit on Feb 4, 2010 is $2737.50 (3650 euro x 1.5 = $5475. 50% of $5475 = $2737.50).

Balance of the deposit after the confirmation credit card ($200) is $2537.50 which can be sent via check or ACH.

Your balance payment of 1825 euro is due 60 days prior to arrival. That payment is in cash (check or ACH) at the spot rate of the day it is made, using the formula as seen above.

Cancellations & Fees

We recognize that sometimes that after making our plans, life takes us in another direction. It doesn't happen often - in fact in the past 12 years and with thousands of reservations under my belt - I think I have done perhaps 15 to 25 total. Very few. But you never know. Are Prices In Euro?

All prices, unless otherwise provided on the web page, are in euro and payments for those rentals are in USD based on spot rate, day of payments made. Those rates are based on those as provided by xe.com.

When Are Directions Provided?
Upon final payment, we will provide via post or email an arrival voucher with instructions and directions for a safe arrival.

Do We Get The Keys Here?
No, you will meet the owner or caretaker on arrival, usually between 3 - 6 pm the day of your check in. They will have the keys. All is well defined in the arrival docs you receive.

What About The Additional Fees...security deposit, utilities etc?
All these deposits and fees, beyond that of the weekly fee for the rental, are paid locally IN CASH to the owner/caretaker. If a security deposit exceeds 500 euro, it is possible for us to hold that amount in account for the owner. Checks only, no credit cards processed.
