The Excelsiore vacation rental located near Levanto Cinque Terre had its origins as a 1930's grand hotel with views of the sea for Italians and others discovering the beauty of the Mediterranean . A more recent history os that the present owner purchased it and made high quality apartments for vacation and otherwise. Excelsior is located outside of Levanto (Levanto by car in 5 minutes, by foot in 10 minutes through steps and a footpath), one of the foot towns to the famed Cinque Terre. Levantio is connected to Cinque Terre via the train station. The apartment is 130 meters and decorated in a modern style.
The property is on a terraced grounds with palm trees,lemon trees, bouganvillea, oleander trees, cypress trees...lots of trees...and lots of flowers too. At the back, on the top of the garden, the guests enjoy a lovely panoramic pool with views over the land and sea, also with a little pool for children. You of course share the pool with the other condo guests/owners, much like you would at a hotel. And the condominium is organized with a permanent concierge. The building is provided with an elevator to the ground floor, and the pool is also accessed via steps.

Second Floor by elevator: Entrance way, a comfortable living / dining room opening onto the terrace which is equipped with a dining table, chairs and sun tent. Kitchen which has all the necessary gadgets (dishwasher- electric stove- oven- fridge- freezer) and that opens onto the living room/dining room. Two double bedrooms, one bedroom with twin beds. One bathroom with a shower (open shower room) and one bathroom with a tub and telephone shower. A lovely apartment providing all the modern amenitities, but with the feel of a hotel, including concierge.

You simply can't escape from a word or two on the popular area known as "Cinque Terre." Cinque Terre literally means "Five Lands" but in fact refers to the five charming fishing villages that lie between LEVANTO in the north and Portovenere to the south: Monterrosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. A place that used to be popular among Italian, but commonly among Germans, English and the increasingly adventurous American audience of Rick Steve's books and television specials (threatening the tranquility of this spot), Cinque Terre allows the traveler to embrace - literally - the mountains as they meet the sea via a hiking path which connects these humble villages. The main attraction here are not museums, historical duomo, piazza's and works of art. It's the fresh air, warm sea and often strenuous walk from village to village.
