Here is a nicely located rental on Lago Maggiore, at an afforable price. Set in the village of Meina, on the statal road (the road that rings the lake), Casa Meina is a beautiful appointed accommodation on the water's edge. Furnished with style, Casa Meina is spacious and comfortable, an ideal rental for people who wants to be at walking distance from the center of Meina. This is what you have in an easy walk (70 meters to 700 meters distance): tennis, pool, bus stop, basic shopping, bar/gelateria, alimentari market and restaurants.
Our charming accommodation (200 square meters) with private garden (1000 square meters) is situated just on the lake shore with the lake road behind. Roses bushes, magnolias, azelias and many other flowers adorn the nice garden where you can sunbath on the large terrace over the small secret harbour. The lake can be easily accessed by the private small beach a few footsteps away.
The total surface of Casa Meina is 200 sqm (about 2000 square feet) and can accommodate a maximum of 6 people.
Please take note: As with all in-town houses, the sound of people and traffic could be heard. The lake road is located behind the rental, once inside the beautiful garden that ends in the lake you will not feel to be in a noisy place. Only one room (the blue one) having windows towards the road could be noisy.

The Details:
Ground Floor:
Cheerful living room with two large windows framing the view of the garden and the lake. The dining room with table for 8 people is immediately adjacent to the living room. Efficient eat-in kitchen with 4-burner gas stove, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge.
First Floor:
Orange bedroom: spacious double bedroom with king size bed and beautiful lake views. Blue bedroom: twin bedded room with beds of 120cm (for this reason twins cannot combine). This last bedroom has windows towards the road so could be noisy - put the kids in there. Bathroom with tub and separated shower.
Second Floor:
Pink bedroom: twin bedded room with large windows facing the lake (the 2 beds can be fitted as one double bed). Bathroom with shower. All the bedrooms are provided with mosquito screens and fans. Bed and bath linen changed weekly. Beach towels are provided.
Please note:
All the bathrooms and bedrooms are upstairs therefore the villa is unsuitable to people with walking difficulties.

In a surrounding of extraordinary beauty Lake Maggiore offers to its visitors spectacular gardens boasting exceptional collections of camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons, historic villas and castles, sacred routes, medieval churches. An impressive number of parks are located here such as the Parco Nazionale della Val Grande (the largest wilderness area in Italy). The mountains, beyond the lake are wonderful, and each little village with its painted houses seems a terrace on the water.
The rental is a base for virtually any kind of vacation; meditative walks into the mountains, sunny afternoons by the private beach, day trips to the Borromeo islands. Sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing as well as excellent golfing are available in the area. In 1 hour by train, or by car, you can spend your day shopping in the "golden fashion triangle" in Milan. In the center of the lake float the three enchanted Borromeo Islands. The Isola Madre and Isola Bella, where are the Borromeo palaces and gardens and the charming Isola dei Pescatori (fishermen island). In front of Stresa stands, just above the water, on a rocky cliff the Eremo di Santa Caterina.
Many sports activities can be practiced in Lake Maggiore such as sailing, water skiing, canoeing, golfing, trekking horse riding.
How to reach Lake Maggiore
By plane: Malpensa airport 20 to 45 minutes
By train: The international line links to Milan, to Genoa,
Zurich and Basel with Cisalpino, Milan to Paris with Stendhal.
By road, motorway A26 and A8 links the lake to Genova and Milano and the Simplon.
Tennis, pool, bus stop, basic shopping, bar/gelateria, market, restaurants: are 70 to 700 meters far. Just behind the villa there is a good and inexpensive Pizzeria, and a sporting centre with tennis and pool is located few meters away.
All shops at 70 - 700 meters (of easy road), there, you can find good grocery shops and restaurants and there is also the possibility to order and take out delicious meals at the nearby gastronomic shop.
The ferry to the other lake towns and islands docks.
Two golf courses are within 10-15 minutes' drive, with several less than an hour away.
Just 10 km north is the town of Stresa.
Arona (all services, railroad station) is 4 km south while Switzerland is just half an hour away.
Bus stop at 5 min walk.
