Casa Legnaia, Toscolano Maderno, Lake Garda is located just at few kilometers from the historical centre of Toscolano Maderno, one of the most popular holidays resort on Lake Garda. With its clear and clean water, sunny beaches, mild climate and Mediterranean vegetation, Lake Garda is like a small sea set between the last spurs of the Alps and the Lombardy plain. Garda has been a favoured spot since Roman times and has been lauded by poets and writers through the ages. For example, Catullus, Goethe, Joyce and D'Annunzio spent some creative years here. It unites its natural beauty with the traces of history, from Roman remains to Liberty.
Casa La Legnaia, built in the 18th century, benefits from a quiet location since the road leading to the house is used only by other people living in the area or people going to the Porticciolo - a little public harbour very close to the house. In the past this small independent house used to be the wood shed of the main palazzo, the Palazzo sul Garda. Please note that the two properties are totally separated. They have different entrances and different outdoor area.
From the narrow street a wrought iron gate opens onto a private court yard. Please note that the entrance and the court yard are shared with other three apartments located in the adjacent building.
At the end of the court there is the access to the lake. In front of the door of the house there is a private area with table and chairs. Parking lots are available on the street plus one parking available in the courtyard for the guest of La Legnaia.

The Details:
La Casa is nicely arranged for a couple seeking memories and relaxation. A living/dining room with a table for 4 and fireplace, a large sunny window with view of the Lake and the little beach. On this floor there are also a small, but well equipped kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub. The kitchen is equipped with gas range (4 elements) oven, toaster, fridge, microwave. There is dishwasher and washing machine for clothes. TV and screens on the windows are provided.
A stair case (about 16 steps) leads to the lofted double bedroom (queen size room). Please note that this room has no privacy because overlooks the living area. On this level there is also a small bedroom with 2 single beds. Due to its size this room is suitable only for children. The living room has air conditioning.

2009 Weekly Rate Per Seasons
Low Season (all other weeks): 975 € / WEEK
Mid Season (April 11 - 18, May 2 - June 27, August 29 - October 3, December 19 - January 9): 1185 € / WEEK
High Season (June 27 - August 29): 1450 € / WEEK
Additional costs to consider: Security deposit 300 € (plus 70 € utility deposit per week), final cleaning included, change of linens on Sat included, gas (heat) additional. AC and heat 10 € per day (mandatory charge for heat daily from October 1 - April 30), baby bed 100 €, no extra bed and pets allowed. Maid service of 3 hours provided for more than two week rentals. Sorry, no telephone or Internet here. Late arrivals between 7 and 9 pm possible with 50 € paid locally. No pets.
*Reservations are always Saturday to Saturday, except for the lowest season when it is flexible. Rates are current and based on when the majority of the week is within the price range stated above. All of our rentals include linens and towels. One set per reservation unless otherwise stated. Request for change/cleaning may incur a charge.

Lake Garda is the entrance from Northern Europe to the south, the first tasting of the Italian way of life behind the Alps. From Windsurfing to sailing, from golf to rock-climbing, from bungee-jumping to trekking: on Lake Garda you can find facilities for almost any sort of sport and activity you can think of. Either alone or with a guide/instructor and for any level from beginner to expert: there is as much choice as anyone could wish for. Sun, clear and clean water, not crowded beaches and sports facilities of all types (from swimming-pools to tennis courts). The Lake Garda is just the place for relaxing but active holidays.

Circolo Golf Bogliaco in Toscolano Maderno - 3 km.
This is the oldest golf course around the lake dating from 1912. The course has 9 holes (plus a practice area) and is based in a hollow 100 m above the lake. Surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation it offers a splendid vista of the lake.
Gardagolf Country club in Soiano del Garda - 21 km. This is a 27 hole course (110 hectares) in the hills of Valtenesi. It too has fine views across the lake from various points. For children there are 2 Wonderful Theme Parks:

Caneva World http://www.canevaworld.it in Lazise sul Garda (30 minutes of ferry + 15 km),
